The Paris Nord Computer Science Laboratory (LIPN) is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 7030)
supported by the CNRS and Sorbonne Paris Nord University (Université Paris XIII).
The LIPN's ambition is to tackle major scientific challenges, ranging from fundamental research to the
valorization of its results. The laboratory develops its research activities by fostering scientific collaboration and
interdisciplinarity within its local and international environment.
Organized into five research teams comprising 150 members, the laboratory's core research areas include: machine learning;
combinatorial optimization and high-performance computing; the design and analysis of combinatorial models at the interface of physics and
algorithmics; foundations of computing and formal verification; natural language processing (NLP); and knowledge representation.
To carry out its research, the LIPN is organized into 6 research teams :
The Administrative and IT support teams are also in place to ensure the smooth running of the laboratory's activities. Research conducted by LIPN members has resulted in several thousand publications.
