News from the front

Greetings! First of all welcome to the English participants. Since the purpose of our meeting is a course on the symbolic method, but also to develop collaborations, could you all describe your research topics, or the things you'd like to work on, at http://meetingwords.com/ac-oxford-people I might create a web page to make it look more official (it will be easier to get credits this way). Is anyone opposed to it? I'd like to add a picture and a link to the web page of each participant. Again: does anyone disagree?

Hi every one, i just created the mailing lists for the "oxford meeting". Oxford_meeting(a)lipn.univ-paris13.fr (And yes since this is about a trip to England it's better if we practice english) Here are the names and e-mail addresses in the current list: Julien David <david(a)lipn.fr> Cécile Mailler <cecile.mailler(a)uvsq.fr> Kerstin Weller <kerstin.weller(a)new.ox.ac.uk> Jérémie Lumbroso <jeremie.lumbroso(a)gmail.com> Adeline Pierrot <Adeline.Pierrot(a)liafa.jussieu.fr> Sven De Felice <sven.defelice(a)univ-mlv.fr> Stephen Melczer <srm9(a)sfu.ca> Basile Morcrette <Basile.Morcrette(a)inria.fr> Stephen I don't know if you plan/hope/wish/whatever to come. Please try to mention the idea to your supervisor. If you think it's like beating a dead horse i'll unsubscribe you If I have forgotten someone, or if you want to add someone to the list, please send me them their names and addresses. For now, can you all think about something you'd like to talk about, or something you'd like to hear from someone,...? I'd like to propose the following: The meetings last two/three days, so we find two/three topics to talk about in the morning and we try to work altogether or in small group in the afternoon. Of course i'm sure everybody's perfectly able to work on a little boat or during a walk in oxford ;-) Of course you can all propose completely otherwise. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the past week, See ya later! Julien.

Sinon? Basile? Alice? Adeline? Quelqu'un d'autre? Here I am

Hello everyone ! First, you probably just noticed that Julien added me to the list. Second, I want to apology for my bad English. Now, for "useful" things... In the topic of potential coloboration, I'm currently working on holonomic specification and I think that there is a lot to do arround it in a lot of area. This is just beginning for now so not very precise... Also, I think it would be nice to have short presentations/discussion on open problem we hope to work with people at this end of mornings. Just to know who intend to do what and merge with the right people, and to be more credible about working on the afternoon... On another but related topic, it seems that a europeen Alea should soon exist. I don't really know how sure it is but it would take place for the forst time in october 2013. This could help for funding ?... All the best, Alice Jacquot

Just in case you were wondering

[ When we left her, Kerstin was on her way to some sky action in the Alps. Now, I'm not sure when she'll be back in action, but I just wanted to make sure nobody started wondering whether we just hallucinated her beauty under the influence of southern pine trees. ^^ And I'm not being bossy for the time being, because I decided to take a few days off. Doing nothing. I'm still figuring how that works. ]

Another thought

Hello again, I think it is worthwhile, to create a credible proposition, that we each have some (even small) web presence. Here are the existing web pages: - Julien David: http://www.lipn.fr/~david/ - Jérémie Lumbroso: http://www-apr.lip6.fr/~lumbroso/ - Cécile Mailler: http://lmv.math.cnrs.fr/annuaire/cecile-mailler/ - Basile Morcrette: http://www-apr.lip6.fr/~morcrette/ I didn't find anything for the other participants. I definitely think this should be remedied! It doesn't matter how "basic" they are as long as they have your name and a list of your publications, at the very least. If you need any help you may contact me directly. Best, Jérémie.
