Hi, In the end Christian says that he can't do a later time today. Please do come and join the AG if you can. To get in, you have to come to the parking entrance. If you don't have a card, give me a call at 0635326197 when you arrive. I'll come to get you through the security. Best wishes, Morgan

Hi, Sorry to message when it's already the weekend. I was in the AG today relating to the message I attach below. Since then, the president of the university has stated that the situation is too uncertain, and will announce the opening or continued closure of the university on Sunday evening. Personally, I think it is more important to participate in the discussions amongst the university staff about how to react to the evolving situation than to push ahead with the seminar. I have already received at least one opinion on this topic, but everyone who would be coming to the GdT on Monday is concerned. If you see this and are able to reply, please choose an option: A) You want to attend the AG that is planned for Monday at 12h30, B) You want the talk (Christian's introduction to Algebraic K-Theory) to go ahead (12h45 - 14h) C) You won't attend either way. You are welcome to add conditions to any of these options. I will send a message on Sunday evening once we've heard from you and the university president has announced whether the university will open. > _______________________________________________ > Sud.tous mailing list > Sud.tous(a)listes.univ-paris13.fr > https://listes.univ-paris13.fr/mailman/listinfo/sud.tous

Hello again, Everyone who has expressed an opinion (although that's not many!) has stated that they would prefer to go to the AG. The president has not closed the university tomorrow, which means that a student blocus is likely to occur. Following Aurélien's suggestion below, the GdT is provisionally postponed to later in the afternoon, say 14h30. I will do my best to send updates, including a more precise time and a room(!), although as things stand I will be teaching from 2pm and thus not able to attend. Planning meeting summary
by Groupe de travail catégories 28 Sep '26

28 Sep '26

Hi! Thanks to everyone who came to the planning meeting today; there were at least 14 people present, which is the most we've had so far(!) We first did a tour of everyone present and their category-related research topics. Several new PhD students will be arriving, and two have already arrived. Then we got some proposals for topics and talks (offered and requested) for this semester's GdT. * [Morgan] WIP: Locale theory (point-free topology) * (*) [Christian] Intro to Algebraic K-Theory * [requested by Thomas S.] Nuclei of Adjunctions * [requested by Quentin] Spreads/branched coverings in topos theory * [Eric] Intro to operads, properads, algebraic structures * + bar/cobar duality for infinity-operads * [Flavien] WIP: Generalizing parametrized variants of monads and their gadgets to double categories * [Eric] WIP: Symmetric vs non-symmetric operads and free functors * [Grégory] Deformation theory of algebraic spectra * [Quentin] Torsion monad on topose * [Jad, eventually] Infinite-dimensional vector bundles as models of Linear Logic * [Naïl] Comparing extension groups of polynomial functors * [Dominik] E_n-obstruction theory on spherical polynomials * [Rashiqua] Synthetic spectra\ * [Quan] Partial centre of monads, OR * relative monads applied to quantum, probabilistic or non-deterministic effects (WIP = presentation of Work In Progress) Being on this list does not absolutely commit you to giving a talk, but if you want to hear about any one of these topics, encourage the associated person and/or don't hesitate to propose someone we can invite to talk about them. We decided that the next session will be in two weeks, October 5th at the same time; Christian will give the highlighted introductory course (*). The room (Y403) is not suited to giving talks. Between now and then, I will let you know which room we will use instead. Three more topics: * The university has funding for "intensive joint courses" (BIP) which must involve several departments, ideally from different universities. Christian proposed that we apply for the funding to organise one arounds (some of) the themes of the GdT. * MathSTIC has funding to invite collaborators for a few days at a time in order to give a talk at the GdT. _If you are reading this and not currently at USPN, this may provide a route for travel funding to visit us._ We need to get two external academics to take part in the scientific committee for this axe of MathSTIC. * There are also invited professorships available. The deadline for these is quite soon (mid October). If you have any suggestions of names of people to invite to participate in the working group for any reason, please get in touch! Also if you couldn't make it today and want to add to the list(s) above, let me know. Best wishes, Morgan

Nouveau créneau!
by Groupe de travail catégories 07 Sep '26

07 Sep '26

Thanks to those that participated in the poll. It seems the time when the most people are available is Monday early afternoon, so I'm provisionally setting the new time at 1pm on Mondays. There is still time to fill in the poll before I confirm this on Thursday. Please send me any suggestions for topics or offers to give a presentation at the working group! Best wishes, Morgan

Date: 2026-09-02 17:27 De: Morgan Rogers <rogers(a)lipn.univ-paris13.fr> À: Categories <categories(a)lipn.univ-paris13.fr> Hi! Here is a when2meet to determine the schedule for the new semester https://www.when2meet.com/?38291643-ai5nk My teaching load is pretty intense, so there aren't many slots I can regularly make (although I'll try my best). I may therefore need to ask someone to step in to manage the sessions I can't make it to... I'll let you know on Monday which slot is most popular; send me a reply if you have constraints that aren't expressible via the when2meet. As usual we'll have an initial session very soon to decide what we'll discuss in the working group. Best wishes, Morgan
