Résumé : The enumeration of lattice walks in restricted regions is an elegant problem which has been the subject of much attention. In this talk we survey recent results on lattice walks in the quarter plane, regarding the analytic properties of their generating functions. Specifically, we discuss the classification of walks whose generating functions satisfy linear differential equations, and why this property is desirable.
