say hi to gilbert and the kids. with love, k.m. this week i am getting all my ducks in a row so that this weekend i can hole up and sew myself some desperately needed skirts for church and summer. again, happy things. i went to the fabric store tonight in search of prints to make some new spring scarves with. some will probably end up in the shop, too. i just love this look. also, i love toast (the catalog and the cooked bread). he is the perfect mix to me of blues and folk and funk and feeling. hard to find? only a little. i've met some truly kindred spirits in my life so far. especially my two nicoles. (well, coco i not so much met as i was born to the same parents). i love them girls and their cute purses. and that made me think of all the insomniatic nights that she stayed up with me and mirrored my every move and snuggled me right out of my anxiety into dreamland, long after grant and cate had drifted off. but let me tell you, that's not how it will really go. i imagine most kids will want to stay home and play computer games, but their moms will make them come and so they'll grudgingly put on a some church pants and skirts. so i was wondering if you could help me know how to bring the romance back into our modern life? it's not really that important, no matter the dress or the menu, we just want the kids to come to feel the spirit of the temple. but it's like you said, anne, when you don't use your imagination to make life beautiful, "how much you miss." nag I'll show you what i've been working on soon- they're presents and i have to give them away first. have a nice monday! lunch: whole wheat pita with tuna or deli meat or a big salad with grilled chicken. all the sudden i'm 30. i thought i'd be driving a mini van full of kids and happily decorating my own home. but life has shown me again that i am not in control. and as i wait for more children and a sense of being settled, and the dishes she cleans for me!! i don't even have to rinse before putting things in the dishwasher anymore! and how warm she keeps my toesies while i'm sitting at the desk working on the computer! who needs slippers? it seems her only desire in life is to be close to us. and all she asks for is an occasional pet and some food and water. truly, my lowest maintenance friend. i'm loving babies & mamas, sunshine, happy rooms, and cool colors plan to be surprised. 1. make stuff :: knit, 2. april, 3. fond of, 4.
