Bonjour, Je me connecterai en visio tout à l'heure. Aurélien. Le 17/02/2026 à 09:43, Groupe de travail catégories a écrit :
Hi!
It seems the same problem that prevented the BBB from working also prevented emails from being sent to the mailing list! Oops. If you'd like to contact me more rapidly regarding the working group, please feel free to include my address in cc.
This Friday, Léopold Brasseur offered to speak with us about differentiation and logic from a different point of view than Jad did last week; title and abstract below. Next week, Christian Ausoni will be presenting something.
Differentiation and Coherent Differentiation in Linear Logic
The differential lambda calculus (Ehrhard and Regnier, 2003) introduces the usual differential operator in the syntax of the lambda calculus. However, this comes with a cost : this operation is fundamentally non-deterministic. Moreover, some important models of the subsequent differential linear logic are not part of its semantics : coherence spaces. Both of these issues can be solved with another formalism : coherent differentiation (Ehrhard, 2021). The main idea is to control the non-determinism viewed as a sum, with a categorical notion of summability which restricts the derivatives to summable pairs only. This operation can then be retrieved in the syntax, with the new calculus being deterministic. In this talk, after introducing the differential lambda calculus and differential linear logic, I will try to cover the basics of this coherent version, and look at the relations between the two frameworks.
