Dear Allan, Hope you are in good shape. After having discussed with Andrzej and Pawel, and knowing very well Dominique Foata, Jean-Yves Thibon and Alain Lascoux, I think it would be a great idea if you did a little "after dinner speech" in Karol's Honour. Emerging from conversations with different people, some ideas : - recall that it's Karol's 60th birthday - he had the idea of this colloquium - he is one of the (tirelessly) most involved personality for the interdisciplinarity (math-physics-computer sciences) and cross-fertilization of the polish and french communities (after all have we not been recently together to celebrate the 50th birthday of it ?) - he (up to me) has a lot of fresh and creative ideas for this particular blend of the "group of five" which mixes : analysis, algebra, graph theory, physics, data structures etc... - and, last but not least, music, transcriptions and piano of course feel free to amend this list. What do you think of this idea ? we are impatiently waiting (with Pawel and Andrzej), your answer. Best regards Gérard
